A prized dye plant! Japanese Indigo is an annual that enjoys our hot and humid climate. This variety flowers a gorgeous pink, but it’s the leaves that are used for indigo dying. Harvest several nodes from the bottom once the plant is 1-2 ft tall and they will re-sprout from the bottom for several more harvests during the growing season. Space plants 1 ft apart.
