A multi-use perennial, Comfrey is considered a permaculture plant. It’s leaves can be infused in oil to make an amazing skin healing salve. It’s large, nutrient dense leaves can be used as mulch in the garden and is a great addition to a compost pile. The purple bell shaped flowers readily attract beneficial insects. Comfrey can be grown in a wide range of conditions but prefers moist soil in full sun to part shade. The more compact the soil, the more shade it requires. Grows to 2’ and needs 2’ between plants.
