Woad has been grown for thousands of years for indigo dyeing. It is a biennial that wants full sun but can grow in a wide range of soil conditions. Stressed plants will produce more indigo precursors so no need to pamper this one. You can get 3-4 harvests per season by taking 1/3 of each plant and allowing the rest to regrow. Keep newly transplanted seedlings well watered. Once established they don’t need much. Space plants 6”-12” apart.
