Where do you source your herbs?
Until recently, we were growing most all the herbs in our tinctures. We are in the process of starting a new farm and during this transition our friends at Crystal Organic Farm are growing 85% of the herbs we use. These herbs come to us fresh from the field and we are able to process them on the same day of harvest. The remaining 15% come from small, Certified Organic farms here in the US.
What's so special about using fresh herbs to make your tinctures?
Many herbs lose important medicinal properties once they are dried. To create the highest level of potency, we tincture 85% of our herbs in their fresh, undried state. The other 15% are herbs that retain potency after being dried. The herbs that need to be tinctured fresh always are!
How long does it take for your tinctures to work?
Depends on the tincture! Some tinctures like Our Sleep Easy and Anxiety Away usually take effect within 30 min to an hour. Tonic herbs like Milky Oats and Lion's Mane work overtime, usually seeing the effects within 2-3 weeks. This is a general timeframe. Everybody's body is different.
CAn I take more than one tincture at a time?
You absolutely can! We suggest not taking more than 3 formulas at a time, although this is not a hard and fast rule.
Are your products organic?
Yes, our tinctures are Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth. Our Mimosa single herb extract is the only tincture we make that is not Certified Organic. This tincture is wildcrafted by Heartsong Herbs, handpicked 1 flower at a time.
Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
Yes. Our tinctures are bottled in glass and we only use paper products when shipping. No bubble wrap or styrofoam here!
What's the story behind the logo?
During a shamanic journey, founder Dana Nivens travelled to the heart of the Earth and discovered that the light emitted from her own heart shines in every color of the rainbow. This work, of helping people with plants, is what truly lights her up.
What is your return policy?
You can return unopened tinctures within 30 days of purchase for a full refund excluding shipping costs. Heartsong Herbs does not cover return shipping. If a bottle arrives damaged please reach out to us as soon as the order arrives and we will make it right. In both cases please contact info@heartsongherbs.com
